Alex is a barrister at the private bar almost exclusively practicing in family law.

This year marks 20 years of Alex’s practice of law. He was called to the Bar in 2015 having started his legal career as an articled clerk at Connolly Suthers Lawyers in Townsville some 11 years earlier and leaving the firm after having been a partner for five years.

In his former life as a solicitor, Alex was certified as a Queensland Law Society Commercial Litigation Accredited Specialist, having a particular focus on personal and corporate insolvency.

In addition to appearing in the Brisbane registry, Alex has a strong regional practice, regularly appearing in Maroochydore, Townsville, Mackay and Cairns. He has also conducted trials in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. .

Alex’s practice includes conducting trials in domestic violence proceedings throughout the State.
