David Funch is a specialist criminal barrister who has extensive experience both prosecuting and defending criminal charges.
He commenced his legal career in 2006, as the Associate to her Honour Judge Richards of the District Court of Queensland. Following this, he undertook work prosecuting criminal matters on behalf of the Queensland Director of Public Prosecutions, a role which he performed throughout Queensland.
In 2010, he moved into criminal defence advocacy. Since that time, he has represented clients charged with criminal matters ranging in seriousness, from relatively minor offending to murder.
David is an experienced sentence, trial, and appeal barrister. Although the majority of his work is performed in the Queensland Supreme and District Courts, he also regularly appears in the Domestic Violence and Magistrates Court jurisdictions.
David is a specialist – he focuses solely on criminal law, is an expert in that jurisdiction, and does not accept briefs in any other.
