Anthony (Tony) George was called to the Bar in 1980 and has specialised in all aspects of family law and has appeared in all jurisdictions since then – from the Childrens and Magistrates Courts through to the Full Court of the Family Court.
Tony is regularly briefed to appear on behalf of the Independent Children’s Lawyer in parenting matters.
Tony’s experience and ability also extends to complex commercial disputes- including all aspects of commercial and equity law. He has had notable success in this area as well.
In his many years of practice, Tony has delivered numerous papers at seminars and conferences, and has participated as a mentor, facilitator and “judge” in University and Bar Practice courses on professional development, and in training courses on negotiation and mediation.
Tony is member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, and of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland (FLPA). He is also a member of the Queensland Bar Association’s Family Law sub-committee.

Tony is accredited as a mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS), and as an arbitrator, in accordance with reg. 67B of the Family Law Regulations 1984 (Cth), to arbitrate disputes of the kinds specified in s 10L of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).
He is a member of the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM).
Tony has extensive experience as a mediator and arbitratrator, and has assisted many parties to resolve their family law disputes.
