Amanda was admitted as a Barrister to the Supreme Court (NSW) in 1991 and continued to practice as a Barrister until her appointment as a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) in January 2017. Amanda returned to the Bar in early 2024 and holds a Queensland Barrister’s Practising Certificate. She continues to practice in Family Law, Child Protection, Coronial and Disciplinary matters and Employment Law.

Amanda is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Arbitrator and holds the following appointments:

  • QCAT Mediation Panel;
  • LANT Mediation Panel;
  • ACT Supreme Court Mediation Panel;
  • Legal Practitioners Admission Board; and,
  • External Adjudicator.
